From continuous fund raising over 40 years the D.K.P.A. is the proud owner of two large caravan holiday homes. These caravans we let to our patients (pre-dialysis, dialysis and transplant) and their families/friends to enable them to have holidays at a very reasonable cost. Up to six people can stay for a week or for short breaks
depending on availability. They are all on lovely sites with excellent facilities:
The caravans are close to the seaside. They are open from April to the end of October. The caravans can be found at Hoburne Devon Bay site at Goodrington, Devon and Haven Holiday site at Burnham-on-sea, Somerset.
Haemodialysis is available at a local Devon hospital for Goodrington but must be booked well in advance. C.A.P.D dialysis patients can have their fluids delivered (just contact your fluids provider) to the caravans where there is a room within the
caravans that can be used for exchanges
Transplant patients and pre-dialysis
patients and their families are also welcome to use the caravans. Booking forms come out with the Winter Communicator and availability can be found in the Journal.
Enquiries and bookings can be made to our Holiday Home Co-ordinator,
Judith Sidaway at 01384 424456 or email [email protected]
Renal patients from other hospitals are also welcome to enquire about availability.
